TWO DIMENSIONAL WORK
In a number of painted iron panels, the artist evokes the smell and color of the natural processes. Processes such as oxidation and weathering are connected with the miraculous experience of colors that shift under the influence of changing ambient light. Xander Spronken plays with pictorial devices, visual elements, and materials. Unexpected discoveries and sensations manifest themselves in ineluctable and implacable sculptures which, together with furniture and architectural constructions, form a robust and homogeneous oeuvre.
